About the Justice Project

The UEA Justice Project works with people who have been convicted of serious crimes but maintain their innocence, to see if there are grounds to overturn their convictions.

The project is run by criminal justice expert and journalist Louise Shorter. Louise works with students to investigate cases of long-term prisoners who claim to be the victims of miscarriages of justice.

The aim is to help these individuals to overturn their convictions by re-examining evidence, trying to identify new lines of enquiry and determining whether they received a fair trial.
